Ritual Somatic Movement class next Sunday

FREE for paid subscribers - SUNDAY, APRIL 27TH at 7:00 PM CST

I recently endured a big change, and movement is getting me through it.

I’m now the proud owner of a colostomy. And although it’s proving to be a good change, it’s still change. With everything from the blessing of more time, to the challenges of skin reactions to this colostomy bag or that one —this change proves that, once again, change demands adaptation.

Change is always an adjustment. Even good change is still change. It moves things, rattles routine and demands recalibration. We can ask for change, wish for it, and then get it, but the bottom line is, we don’t know how choices we make or changes we endure will play out. We can’t specify how change unfolds, we just have to play the game.

Moving, dancing, ritual, breath — these are the things that keep me grounded in the midst of change. These are the things that keep me embodied and whole. Healing. Adjusting. So I invite you to move with me this Sunday for my class - Ritual Somatic Movement.

This class is a blend of journaling, breathwork, visualization, meditation, movement, improv tools, and ritual to create an earthy and grounded, yet expansive somatic healing practice.

This is a practice of resistance against the powers that be through radical self-love and exploration. It is a form of collective care as we gather to hold space for healing — also a form of resistance: we are stronger together.

Maybe you think, “but I’m not a dancer. I can’t dance.” Good. This class isn’t for dancers. I mean, obviously dancers are welcome:) But my point is, we all can dance. We all have a body, and our bodies long for, deserve, and appreciate moving.

Dance is for all of us.

I’m here to offer you the space to move, and the tools to keep movement as a staple in your life and your embodied healing journey in this wild life.

You are the medicine. We just sometimes need help with the ingredients. Sharing is caring;)

I’m also here to offer you community to grow, share, and learn with. Connection makes us stronger and happier human beings.

And lastly, with the power of zoom and online classes, you can learn and dance from the accessible comfort of your own home, which is proven to assist us in our healing when we are in a stable and comfortable space. A container that feels safe creates more space for healing and brain plasticity.

Don’t get me wrong, I love dancing with others in-person, and that has its own benefits! But I love that this virtual space makes movement and healing together accessible for us all.

Alright y’all, I hope to see you this Sunday. Paid subscribers, see the zoom link below. And everyone else, if you like what you see here, if you’re curious, become a paid subscriber - YOUR FIRST MONTH IS FREE - and enjoy this class every month, along with other offerings for your path to embodied empowerment.
